WHAT IS COCHISE CATS?

The Cochise Cats program is a partnership between Cochise College and The University of Arizona South designed to help you make the most of programs and services offered at both institutions. Now it’s easier and more affordable than ever to transfer credits between Cochise College and UA South and to obtain a bachelors degree. 

Once you’re a Cochise Cat, you’ll earn approximately 60 academic credits at Cochise College before transferring to The University of Arizona to earn the final 60 credits of your degree. The program is offered in the following Southern Arizona locations:

  • Sierra Vista
  • Douglas
  • Santa Cruz County

Courses are offered by both Cochise College and UA South at each of these locations.

On top of a great education, you’ll receive the following benefits as a Cochise Cat:

  • Transcript and graduation fees waived by Cochise College and UA South
  • Access to both Cochise College and UA South resources (student activities, libraries, etc.)
  • An assigned academic advisor from both institutions
  • E-mail updates about programs, services, and activities
  • Workshops on career planning, financial aid, student services, and more
  • Activities with students, faculty, and staff
  • A three-credit career and transfer planning class
ELIGIBILITY

To join Cochise Cats, you must be:

  • Enrolled at Cochise College, with at least one semester remaining to graduate

OR

  • Planning to attend Cochise College
  • Intending to enroll at The University of Arizona South upon graduation from Cochise College

You will be contacted within 14 days of applying for the program.

Once you’re a Cochise Cats, you’ll have access to all the benefits of the program for the duration of your enrollment at Cochise College and UA South. 

Please note:  There is no minimum grade point average for acceptance into the Cochise Cats program.  However, participation in the program does not guarantee admission to Cochise College or UA South.

Once accepted into the Cochise Cats program, you must remain continuously enrolled in either Cochise College or UA South.  If at any time you do not register for classes in either institution for two or more consecutive semesters, you will be disqualified from participation in Cochise Cats.  You will have to reapply for acceptance to the program upon reenrollment at Cochise College or UA South.
